Eagles Suffer Fifth Loss of the Season to NCAA DIII Opponent LaGrange College

The Eagles suffered their fifth loss of the season against LaGrange College by a final score of 79—89. Even with a strong second half push, the Eagles were unable to comeback from their eleven-point halftime deficit.
 
The Eagles started the game strong, having the lead with just six minutes to go in the first half. Unfortunately, basketball is a game of runs and LaGrange College ended the first half on a 12—1 run in the last 3:14 of the first half. Even though LaGrange stretched their lead to 20 points with 14:54 left in the game, the Eagles were able to fight their way back and get the lead down to 6 points with 4:28 left in the game. Unfortunately, the Eagles could get no closer than six as the Panthers pushed their lead back to ten and dealt the Eagles their fifth loss of the season. However, Eagles senior guard Austin Lewis was able to reach a new career high of 25 points on 8/18, shooting from the field at 44.4%. Not far behind was fellow senior Christian Porter who recorded 18 points on 6/10 (60%) shooting from the three point line! Even with the strong, scoring leadership from the senior guards the Eagles were unable to claim the victory.
 
Tuesday night, the Eagles will participate in their third exhibition game of the 2022-2023 season. This matchup will take place in Rome, GA where the Eagles will face NCAA DII opponent Shorter University.
