Eagles Take Season Record to 5-3

On October 10, the Pensacola Christian College Eagles competed against Trinity Baptist College. The Eagles came into the game with an overall record of 4-3 and a region record of 1-1. A week off since their previous game proved to be of little concern as the Eagles came out ready to play.

The Eagles came out aggressive in the first half. After only three shot attempts, and less than fifteen minutes into the first half, Zachary Kluever scored the Eagles first goal of the night. Through the remainder of the first half, the Eagles were able to maintain possession a majority of the time. Despite an additional 11 shot attempts, the Eagles were unable to score any more goals during the first half. However, the Eagles' strong ball control and defense displayed limited Trinity's shot attempts to only four with the score being 1-0 at the end of the half.

During the second half, the Eagles continued their aggressive offensive play. After eight shot attempts, Riley Buchalski, with an assist from Samuel Barragan, scored the second goal of the night. Though the Eagles continued to control the ball for most of the second half, they were unable to score any additional goals and with less than three minutes left Trinity scored their first and only goal of the night.

The Eagles won 2-1, finishing with thirty-one shot attempts, twenty of them being on goal. Riley Buchalski led with 7 shot attempts, five on goal. Goalkeeper Adam Lund recorded two saves.

"I think the game went pretty well," Coach Liwosz said. "The guys did well possessing the ball. We created a lot of chances. Despite not finishing as many as we would have liked, we were happy with the possession in the final third of the field."
