The Lady Eagles took to the floor tonight for the first time in the new year. They were hoping to start this new decade off with a big win on the road. This game is the beginning of a long January road trip for the Lady Eagles; the team will play seven games over the sixteen-day trip.

Sandy McElhaney had a good start shooting the ball, which propelled the team to a fast start. The defensive effort for the Lady Eagles set the tone of the game and gave them a lead of 43-27 at the half.
The Lady Eagles came out in the second half focused to build on the first-half momentum.
Leah Phelps led the third quarter with her defensive energy and transition play. The balanced offensive attack and team defense led to a 24-9 third quarter.
The Lady Eagles were able to continue the push in the fourth quarter and secured a win of 79-56! The team was led in scoring by
Sandy McElhaney with 18 points.
Leah Phelps had 15 points and 7 steals.
Emma Hardy added 11 points, 7 rebounds, and a huge 5 blocks.
Lauran Alvarez continued to fill the stat sheet up with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Coach Sellars had this to say after the game: "It was great to get back on the court after being off for almost a month, and I am really proud of the team effort today. The defensive effort was there all game, and I was really glad to see our balanced attack. Leah had a great game and her defensive effort that led to early offense was big for us tonight. We had great energy today on and off the court. The players are really staying focused and supporting each other. It was a great team win."
