For the second game in a row, the PCC Men's basketball team struggled to put the ball in the basket and came out on the short end in Jacksonville, FL, 76-59 to the Eagles of Trinity Baptist College. Trinity Baptist shot a blistering 69 percent in the second half and the defense of PCC had no answers to the penetration game of Marquis Duncanson and Kenton Bibbs. PCC drops to 0-2 in NCCAA South Region play.
In the early going
, the two teams traded baskets until PCC pulled ahead 15-8. Trinity then scored eight consecutive points to take the top spot at the 10:00 mark of the first half. The teams continued to trade leads until the final moments of the first half when the Eagles of Trinity were ahead by three heading into the locker room.
Pensacola regained the lead just two minutes into the second half increasing their score by five to 39-34 before Trinity began its first extended run of the period. Trinity built a 14-point lead, Pensacola cut that difference down to three, and Trinity finished it off in the final 7:33.
