The Lady Eagles suffer another defeat tonight on their home court to Gulf Coast State College in just three sets.
Gulf Coast State College started the first set off with a 9-1 lead over the Lady Eagles. The Lady Eagles managed to close the gap to only 9-13, but then fell victim to a slew of attacking and ball handling errors. Gulf Coast State College ended the first set 25-13.
The Lady Eagles responded to the first set with a strong start to the second half through a 5 point run. Gulf Coast caught up quickly and tied the Lady Eagles 8-8. Gulf Coast then pulled ahead leaving the Eagles behind 19-13. The Lady Eagles fought their way back to a 3 point deficit (18-21) but were unable to overtake their opponent. Gulf Coast won the second set 25-19.
The Lady Eagles battled their way through the third set matching Gulf Coast point for point. Once the score reached 10-10 Gulf Coast pulled away to 16-10. The Lady Eagles clawed their way back to within 3 points of Gulf Coast (14-17) but were unable to overcome their opponent. Gulf Coast finished the third set 25-18 against the Lady Eagles.Â
