As the 2019 Eagles Soccer season nears its end, the Coaches took some time tonight to recognize the seniors on the team.
Hora Lee for his positive influence on his teammates.
Nathanael Younge for his leadership and dedication to the team.
Ben Grover for his excellent work ethic both in the classroom and in the field.
Jason Upchurch for his dedication to developing his defensive skills.
Kendall Mullenix for his renowned bicycle kicks and versatility.
Team Captain Paul Stewart for his investment others on the team.
Team Captain Nick Standridge for his consistent performances both on the front and back lines. And finally,
Team Caption Jake McClelland for his hard work ethic both in the classroom and on the field, along with his leadership on the team.

Tonight's game against Talladega College was one of the Eagles toughest match-ups of the season.

For the first 15 minutes of the match Talladega pressed hard against the Eagles. The Eagles defense fought hard but was unable to hold back Talladega's offensive pressure. 15 minutes into the match, Talladega scored 3 consecutive goals within 1 minute of each other. The Eagles answered back at minute 20 when #1
Jake McClelland slid through the defense and scored the Eagles' first goal off an assist from #8

The Eagles regained their confidence after scoring their first goal and were able to score another goal 3 minutes later! #4
Clint Peterson stepped away from the defensive line and was able to score outside the penalty box off an assist from #10
Kendall Mullenix. The Eagles now trailed behind Talladega College 2-3 with 18 minutes left in the first half.

Talladega's defensive line constantly cleared the ball which reduced scoring opportunities for the Eagles. With 10 minutes left in the first half, Eagles player #20
Jonathan Mendez took a hard kick to the ankle and was unable to play for the remainder of the game. The Eagles relied on #22
Lucas Sampaio in place of Mendez for the remainder of the first half.Â

Although the Eagles had fewer opportunities to score, they made the few they had count. With 4 minutes left in the first half, Eagles player #12

The Eagles tightened up their defense going into the second half making it much more of a challenge for Talladega to get open looks. The Eagles held Talladega's offense at bay for the first 27 minutes of the second half until #10 Donja Smith slipped in past the defense and scored Talladega's fifth goal. The Eagles rallied their offense and answered back with a header from #12
Nick Standridge with just 4 minutes left in the game. With the Eagles trailing 4-5 and 3 minutes left on the clock, they knew they had to score.

The Eagles gathered their offense together and fought with everything they had to try to tie up the game. #1
Jake McClelland pressured Talladega's defensive line and was able to open up three corner kick opportunities for the Eagles. After three close goal attempts from McClelland's corner kicks, the Eagles were unable to put the ball in the goal to tie up the game. After a hard fought battle against Talladega College, the Eagles were unable to finish out the match with the win.
