Eagles Lose Rain-Soaked Road Battle To Tornadoes

| By:
TALLADEGA, Alabama–A goal just 7 minutes into the 2nd half knotted the score at 1, but Talladega College proved to be too much for the Eagles in today's non-conference road matchup.

Jake McClelland scored his second goal of the season with his head off a pass from midfielder Kendall Mullenix in today's loss to the Talladega College Tornandoes.

Despite the poor conditions, the Eagles battled to a 1-0 halftime deficit after the Tornadoes scored 23 minutes into the 1st half. In the early minutes of the 2nd half, forward Jake McClelland netted the equalizer, but it was Talladega College who would ultimately walk away with a victory following two late goals.

"Our defense stepped up for us again tonight, playing extremely well against a solid team." Eagles Soccer Head Coach Joseph Liwosz finished, "We've been putting a lot of work during practice into creating scoring opportunities and finishing them. Tonight, we were able to do that, but they were just a little bit better than us in this one."

The Eagles will take the pitch again tomorrow afternoon when they face Point University in their last regular season game. The Eagles, who currently are ranked #3 in the NCCAA, will look to pad their postseason resume as they prepare for next weekend's NCCAA SOUTH Region tournament hosted in Jacksonville, FL.
