Kissimmee, FL—Down by 12 at the half, the Eagles mounted a spirited comeback attempt against the Johnson University of Florida Suns. Despite their best efforts, the Eagles were unable to secure the win, losing 88-82 on the road in Kissimmee, FL.
In the 1st half of the ball game, the Suns jumped out to an early lead and wouldn't look back throughout the remainder of the 1st half. The three-point field goal was the shot of choice for the Suns in the early going of yesterday's ball game. During the 1st half, the Suns would hit 6 three point field goals on their way to shooting 35% from three-point range. Despite the three-point barrage by the Suns, the Eagles were able to hang with them through the first 5 minutes of the ball game. The Suns would quickly strike back, widening their lead to as many as 16 points in the 1st half.

Marlon Gardner with 10 points.

Dakota Pratt, and
Jared McCrillis each added 6 points apiece in the half. The Eagles shot 46% from the field in the 1st half compared to 45% for the Johnson Suns. Despite their momentum, the Eagles would again fall prey to the scorching hot three-point shooting of the Suns. Suns guard Phil Legrier hit three straight three-pointers from long range that helped the Suns build their lead back up to 12 points with 14 minutes remaining in the ball game. The lead would balloon to as many as 17 points with just 8 minutes remaining in the contest, but the Eagles had one last run in their bones.

Ian would score 11 points down the stretch to help the Eagles bring the deficit to just 6 points with a little over a minute remaining in the game. However, 6 points would be the closest the Eagles would come. Despite their valiant effort, the Eagles would fall to the Suns by a final of 88-82 on the road in Kissimmee, FL.
